Meet The Team

Are you feeling stuck, afraid, hopeless, unmotivated or struggling to get through life? My name is Rebecca and I am interested in hearing your story. I will be joining Janine Ruddy’s practice as a practicum student this January, and working under her supervision for the next several months.

I hold a Master’s of Arts Degree in Counselling Psychology (MACP) from Yorkville University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Brock University.  I am also a Member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP), and certified in Mental Health First Aid by the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC)

I am interested in working with adults and young adults struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, perfectionism, depression and post-secondary school or work related stress. My background in health and counselling psychology provides me with the knowledge and understanding about how biological, psychological and social factors can impact one’s ability to cope with their stress in a healthy or unhealthy manner. I believe in the importance of providing you a safe non-judgmental environment. I use an empathetic, compassionate and results oriented approach that is meant to help you problem-solve as well as develop self-awareness, resilience and healthy coping skills.

I understand the effects of how one’s personal life can negatively impact their academic or work performance and living a fulfilling life. If you are struggling please contact me. You are not alone, and I am very interested in hearing your story.

RN Psychotherapist

I am a RN Psychotherapist and Health Consultant.  I graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Nursing.  I am a member of the College of Nurses of Ontario and a  Certified Health Consultant.

My goal is to address “whole person”  health and get to the root cause of suffering. Things like our diet, sleep and/or thoughts may all be contributing  to our mental health state. Our thinking patterns (stories) have tremendous power over how we live our lives. They can be the difference between living a meaningful and fulfilling life or living a depressing life. I will help you re-write these stories to gain back your happiness and sense of wellness.

My approach to therapy is driven by compassion and empathy where we will work collaboratively on your goals. My approach is integrative and one that draws on various therapies to give you the tools you need to start dealing with what has brought you my way. You will be left with a vast tool box for the future to tackle obstacles that may arise.

Whether you are struggling with a specific issue like anxiety or depression or you have found yourself living a less than ideal life, there is help out there. Actually right here.

Hello!  My name is Emily, and I will be joining Janine Ruddy’s online psychotherapy practice in May 2021 as a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) student to finish my degree. In these uncertain times, it is helpful to connect with a counsellor to explore how you have been impacted by the pandemic, and how you may navigate these, and the everyday stressors, relationships, expectations, and obligations, that may contribute to feeling overwhelmed or not in control. Sometimes the strategies that have worked for us in the past are no longer helpful and can even make circumstances worse; this is normal and is often improved when we develop self-compassion and understanding for ourselves. I look forward to working together to discuss your current situation and the strategies you are using, to identify what is working for you, and what alternatives may be available to reach your goals and improve your overall wellbeing.

I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) and a student member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists (OSRP). I have experience working with youths, young adults, and their families to improve their satisfaction within their lives and interpersonal relationships. My approach is informed by training in several therapeutic models including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Reality Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Counselling, and Motivational Interviewing.

School, work, and managing our day to day can be stressful, and when we add the challenges and changes brought on by the pandemic, it can be a lot.

Before we know it, we begin to question ourselves…

“Can I do this? Am I capable of being successful? Can I be happy? “

Helping you unpack your experience and supporting you by making intentional and informed decisions is my number one goal.

My name is Jennifer, an Intern who will be working under the supervision of Janine Ruddy. Over the next year, I hope to journey along with you and uncover the challenges, stressors, and concerns you have so you can begin a journey that is uniquely yours.

Over the last 15 years, I have worked with youth and young adults facing school stress, work anxiety, and life challenges just like you.

I am currently completing my final year of my Master’s Degree in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University. I also have a Child & Youth Work Diploma from Humber College and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from York University.

  • My approach is you are at the centre of therapy.

  • I believe in a holistic, integrative approach using various models to help you in your goals.

  • Whether we address your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, or relationships, at the heart of it all I am here to listen, be nonjudgmental, and accept your experience.

I want to welcome you to my virtual office and meet you wherever you are in your journey. Let’s explore on how we can work together.
